RetroAchievements Now Works on Original PS2 Hardware

A new tool called xeRAbora lets RetroAchievements run on an original PlayStation 2 instead of relying on an emulator. It works alongside Open PS2 Loader and a PC client, which monitors game memory while the console plays the game. The alpha-stage software supports Windows, macOS, and Linux and also works with emulators.
EXPANDED:
xeRAbora, developed by hacan359, links a real PlayStation 2 running Open PS2 Loader to a desktop companion. The desktop side watches memory as the console runs the game, letting RetroAchievements track unlocks and show them on the user's profile. The alpha build covers Windows, macOS, and Linux, and can also serve emulator users.
Setup uses OPL-RA.ELF in place of standard OPL. Players enable notifications, cold-boot, then run the PC client, which stores an access token rather than the account password. A connection check relies on UDP port 18194; compatibility is verified by generating a hash from the disc image. Supported games receive
