Stillfront names Marcus Jacobs as CEO amid Q3 revenue dip

Stillfront has appointed Marcus Jacobs as its next president and group CEO, starting November 1. Jacobs has prior experience at EA, King, and Embark Studios, and has been on Stillfront's board since 2022. The company also reported Q3 net revenue of SEK 1,291m, a 1% year-on-year decline, and adjusted EBITDAC down 16%.
Marcus Jacobs will take over as Stillfront’s president and group CEO on 1 November, replacing Alexis Bonte. Jacobs has more than 25 years in gaming, including monetization leadership at EA, a seven-year period at King, and chief commercial officer duties at Embark Studios. He joined Stillfront’s board in 2022 and will work from Stockholm.
The appointment coincided with Q3 2026 results: net revenue reached SEK 1,291m, about $130m, down 1% year on year. Adjusted EBITDAC was SEK 366m, roughly $36.8m, a 16% annual fall. Bonte attributed the declines to catalogue titles being deprioritised, while noting five straight quarters of organic growth for key franchises and continued profitability.
Stillfront’s leadership change and softer results could affect employees, players, and investors across its studios. If cost discipline follows weaker adjusted earnings, some teams may face restructuring, while players could see shifts in live-service support for older titles. Jacobs’s background in monetisation and commercial strategy may influence how games are priced and updated. The wider games sector may read the appointment as a signal about consolidation and mobile-focused portfolio management.
