Helsinki PG Connects draws global crowd as Nordic community thrives

PG Connects Nordics took place in Helsinki on October 20 and 21, marking the event's 11th edition in the city. It attracted more than 1,100 attendees from over 450 companies and 44 countries, with busy expo and track sessions, a larger Big Indie Zone, and well-received roundtables and IGDA discussions. Steel Media COO Dave Bradley said the event reflected the Nordic region's strong appetite for networking and community.
The Helsinki gathering ran October 20–21 and was the city’s 11th PG Connects edition. Organizers reported 1,100-plus participants representing more than 450 firms across 44 nations. The show floor stayed busy both mornings, while two conference rooms drew crowds and some sessions reached capacity. The AI Gamechangers Summit also attracted strong interest.
Helsinki’s Big Indie Zone was the largest yet and remained active throughout. A new roundtable series and the IGDA Chat Corner, including an Ask Me Anything setup, were well attended. Steel Media COO Dave Bradley credited the Nordic region’s networking culture. Upcoming editions include Jordan on November 7–8 and Montreal on November 10 as part of MIGS.
Events like this may strengthen professional ties among game developers, publishers, students, and service providers across Nordic and international markets. The connections formed could lead to collaborations, hiring, investment conversations, and knowledge exchange that influence smaller studios and local ecosystems. By bringing many countries together, it may also support cultural exchange and broader awareness of regional talent. However, impact depends on follow-through after the event.
