Fantasy contests launch for PGL Masters Bucharest and companion events
HLTV has opened Fantasy contests for the PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 group stage along with two partner events. In the Bucharest game, Vitality stand-in jL is the most selected player at a $190,000 price, while donk is the top golden card despite costing $250,000. The group stage uses a 16-team Swiss format with best-of-three matches, and prizes include sponsored skins.
HLTV’s Bucharest fantasy game covers only the group phase. The 16 entrants play a Swiss bracket with every series best-of-three. Teams reaching 3-0 receive two padding rounds; 3-1 sides receive one. A separate playoff contest begins after round five, once five qualifiers are set. Vitality’s jL, filling in for apEX, costs $190,000 and appears on nearly half of entries. donk, priced at $250,000, leads golden-card picks.
Two companion contests are also open. RLG Tesla Cup uses two four-team groups, then a four-team playoff with a third-place match, all best-of-three. Stake Ranked Episode 5 has an eight-team double-elimination bracket, with best-of-three matches until a best-of-five final. Hellcase sponsors skin prizes across the events.
These fantasy contests may deepen engagement among Counter-Strike followers, prompting closer tracking of group-stage matches, player prices, and roster changes. Sponsors and skin-market participants could see extra attention around the listed prizes. For players and teams, added fantasy visibility may heighten scrutiny and pressure, though any societal effect likely remains concentrated within the esports community and its adjacent digital economies.
