Logitech's New TKL Keyboard Features Magnetic Switches and Ultra-Fast Polling
Logitech has introduced the PRO X2 RAPID, a wired tenkeyless gaming keyboard. It offers hot-swappable magnetic switches and an 8,000 Hz polling rate. Users can adjust actuation directly on the keyboard without needing the G HUB software.
The PRO X2 RAPID is a wired tenkeyless keyboard, meaning it drops the number pad for a more compact footprint suited to gamers with limited desk space. Its magnetic switches are hot-swappable, so users can replace them without soldering tools. The 8,000 Hz polling rate is exceptionally high, allowing the keyboard to report key presses to a computer far more frequently than standard models.
A notable design choice is the onboard actuation adjustment, which lets players fine-tune how deeply a key must be pressed to register a keystroke. This control is handled directly on the device, removing the need to launch Logitech's G HUB software for tweaks. The combination of magnetic switch technology and rapid polling positions this product squarely at competitive players seeking minimal input delay and customizable feel.
This keyboard could appeal to competitive gamers who prioritize responsiveness and prefer hardware-level customization over software suites. The onboard actuation control may reduce friction for tournament players who often use unfamiliar machines, potentially making it a practical travel option. However, the wired-only design and tenkeyless layout may limit its draw for casual users or those who favor wireless setups. The broader push toward magnetic switches and high polling rates could nudge other manufacturers to follow, possibly raising baseline expectations for gaming peripherals across the market.
