Thermal Grizzly Readies Mycro Pro for Intel's Nova Lake-S and Legacy Platforms

Thermal Grizzly has introduced the Mycro Pro Stainless Steel CPU water block, which supports Intel's upcoming LGA 1954 socket for Nova Lake-S processors along with LGA 1700/1851 and AMD AM4/AM5. The block features an unplated copper coldplate with a microfin structure and standard G1/4 fittings. It is designed to be compatible with existing LGA 1700/1851 mounting due to similar socket dimensions.
The Mycro Pro Stainless Steel marks Thermal Grizzly's entry into cooling for Intel's forthcoming LGA 1954 socket, which will accompany Nova Lake-S desktop processors. The block's compatibility extends backward to LGA 1700 and LGA 1851 sockets, plus AMD's AM4 and AM5, thanks to the dimensional similarity between Intel's older and newer socket designs.
The cooling surface uses an unplated copper coldplate with microfins measuring 0.2 millimeters in both fin and channel width. The Intel version incorporates 70 such fins. Skipping nickel plating improves heat transfer and lowers cost, though exposed copper may oxidize over time. Standard G1/4 fittings and EPDM O-rings support custom loop integration. Pricing sits at $116.88 including VAT.
This product signals that the PC hardware ecosystem is already preparing for Intel's Nova Lake-S transition, which could ease adoption for enthusiasts building new systems. Water cooling manufacturers moving early on LGA 1954 support may reduce early-adopter friction, potentially benefiting both overclockers and custom-loop builders. However, the broader market impact is likely limited to a niche segment, as most consumers use air coolers or all-in-one units. The compatibility with existing sockets also means current owners aren't forced to upgrade immediately.
