RuneScape Opens Havenhythe Part II, Adding Areas and Quests

Jagex released Havenhythe Part II for RuneScape, which is described as the MMORPG's largest area expansion in 25 years. The members-only update adds four areas, a standalone Bangolin quest, and continues the Sanguine storyline toward its climax. It also introduces new skilling and mining content, enemies, drops, Sigil Codices, and rewards including a best-in-slot hatchet.
Jagex’s members-only Havenhythe Part II arrived Sept. 28, 2026, opening four zones east of Amberfell. Players must finish Secrets of Amberfell and meet Herblore 55, Crafting 51, Mining 65, and Smithing 60; the new mining activity also needs Mining 65 and Crafting 51. The update includes the standalone Bangolin quest and advances the Sanguine plot through Heralds of Crimson.
New locations include Fenmoor’s Boglands, the Exalted Quarry, and Heathervein. There, deposits yield Essence Lumps, Chunks, and Slabs for Runecrafting supplies. Sanguine foes can drop Crimson Ichor, which combines with Remnant Energy to create three Sigil Codices. Rewards include Bogolin Pearls, Chima Moss Spools, a Bogolin Knife and Torch, rune essence, and an ultra-rare best-in-slot hatchet.
This update may mainly affect existing RuneScape members and mobile MMORPG players, giving them fresh goals, social coordination, and longer play sessions. It could also influence Jagex’s retention and monetization by rewarding subscribers with high-value drops. For broader mobile gaming, it may reinforce demand for deep, persistent worlds on phones, though its impact likely remains within the established MMORPG audience rather than shifting wider cultural trends.
